I popped out for about 1 1/2 house this afternoon.. same field I dug the Virginia Button and cape pin out of... and on the raise in the field the first thing I got was the NY... 3 piece but it was in pieces.. but I got them a.. then a few round balls one with teeth marks!!! A couple 3 ringers.. a pair of sharps and 5 .41 cal pistol bullets... not bad for how long I was out... I had been having problens with my 12" coil.. really noisy.. so I took off the cover and let it dry it was full of water and it seem great now... some of the .41s were at 8+ inches.. the NY has a lot of gold, plain backmark and the band cane off... the eagle is well.. jsut an eagle.. I need to dig up my resource on who the VA unit engaged... I "think" some NY boys were involved... I 'd rather dig this stuff.. just a few items but have them in context of what happened then just go dig a field full of bullets from some camp...

The NY has a bit of gold left on it.. I'll hit it with some lemon juice and see if it pops any more...

Those are some awesome finds! If I could find all of that in an hour and a half and I'd be on cloud 9, I'd gladly take half that for a full day!

Nice finds, I bet that NY button will clean up really nice. BTW my Super 12 coil has been so noisy lately I cannot use it, my buddy also has one for his DFX and is having the same problem. I use a MXT. I tried it again today and it is not even usable with all the chatter, and won't ground balance at all. Same thing has occurred at many locations?

Weird with the coil.. mine has worked well up till the last month or so.. but my DFX needs a tune up too.. it locks up every once in a while.. and sometimes I get the half screen or no screen when it powers on... I was surprised how much moisture there was trapped in the cover for the coil.. I had not been out in the rain.. so it was dew I guess.. I have some spot where is is as smooth and stable as a stock coil.. and some it picks up a lot of noise and I have to lower my settings.. My custom relic mode starts off pretty hot... AC 78 DC 50 PAG 3 low sweep speed.. 5 filters.. sometimes no problems.. sometimes I get a weird pulse.. sometimes it just goes nuts.. and it sure locks the hot rocks!!!

Send in that birdband!
exactly.....they will send you a letter telling you what type of bird and when and where it was banded. they need to know where you found it so they can track how far it traveled since being tagged...wtg on the civil war finds....love those 3 ringers....

Nice finds. I like the bird band.

Nice finds hope you get a buckle on your next hunt HH!
