Yup, I recognize the Black Pearl from the movie. Did you get a chance to tour it?

The USS Missouri; isn't that one that survived the bombing at Pearl Harbor? And did you
tour on it?

Nice pics. That must have been a great vacation. Thanks for sharing.

Great pics, thanks :icon_thumleft:. Didn't the USS Missouri fire her last shots in Gulf war 1?. Beautiful ship :icon_thumleft:. The Black Pearl is pretty good too :laughing7:.

The USS Missouri was commisioned in mid 1944 & saw action in the Pacific, she has a dent where a Kamakazi hit her, she served in Korea, & was refurbished for service in the Gulf war.
The peace treaty was signed on her deck after WW11 ended, there is a brass plaque where Macarthur stood.
She served her country well.

No problem Ray

They have the Pearl blocked off so that you cannot get on it. It is anchored next to our resort. Disney is building a resort next to it, so I assume that's why they brought it there. They just finished filming the next movie in the series in Hawaii.

My wife and I did tour the Missouri. Very humbling to stand on the deck where the surrender was signed. As Fossis said, it was struck by a Kamikaze plane. Interestingly, the tour guide said that the Kamikaze pilots ranged in age from 12 to 19 years old! Can you imagine a 12 year old doing that?

Photo snapped just as the Kamikaze pilot hit the Missouri. You can see it in the top left of the photo.

Dents in the rail that remain from the plane's impact.

The spot where the surrender was signed.

The ship was recommissioned for duty in the Gulf. It now has these really cool radar guided Gatling guns that shoot down incoming planes and missiles and it also has Tomahawk missiles.
