Odd cat toy

One of my cats (Stinkerbell) was treating this beetle like a hockey puck, and while normally I'd have left it with her, this was a really cool looking bug.

Looked up "Beetles in Wa. State", and found out it is a Burying Beetle. Seems it has an instinct to bury dead things..

FWIW, even though it had been bashed up against a wall by my fearless kitty, it survived. Seemed like it was crawling just fine, so I moved it out into the flower garden area.

Hopefully it's got some good karma, otherwise the 'coons will treat it like an appetizer.
