Saturday I found this bullet that looks like a 2 ring prussian, but with out the rings, a first for us. And carved camp lead that was folded up so I opened just enough to clean it out and make sure he hadn't hid anything inside. DSCN3158.JPGDSCN3159.JPG

Today I found this lead with Iron fragment, that I believe to be the lead band from perhaps a Hotchkiss shell. Total wt. is 1/2 lb. DSCN3160.JPGDSCN3161.JPGDSCN3162.JPGDSCN3163.JPG

Sucker was deep too @ 14"

If it has 2 holes its a home made whirligig

Nice finds. The folder, carved lead is interesting. Looks there is a hole in the center. Maybe someone was making a flower design to wear as a pendant, button, or something like that.

Could be a handmade rowel for a spur, that carved lead I mean.

It does have 2 holes and I thought about that also, but the holes line up perfectly as its folded so it may have been punched while folded. Only one person knows for sure. Thks Dn

nice finds! not to be off topic but what kind of shovel is that in the pics? I like those pad looking things on it.
