Dad and I hunt a large park in Cuba, MO called Hood's Park. We stumbled upon these while MD'ing the other day. Someone was making jewelry out of coins and dumped some of the coin refuse. We found 68 pieces, some of which were intact (as you can see) except for the centers cut out. It took a while to dig them all because the readings were jumbled.

It's funny that you posted this, just recently I photographed some gold-plated coin "cut-outs" for a friend that sells them as charms.

I think "goldencoin" may be correct about there being a craft fair at that park.

Take care & HH!

I am not sure which is better the gold plated cut out or actually finding the whole coin. I think i would be happy with both unless it was a valuable coin that was destroyed, then I would be heartbroken.
