Last Thursday I woke up to a very nice rain in Elko Nevada. That morning was time to start heading home. I headed out east on I-80 to go south on I-215 to make my way to Spanish Fork on I-15 south to Hwy 6 through Price, UT and hit I-70 at Green River, UT and go as far as the exit to Hwy 191 and on through Moab and turn left on route 46 that run to the south of the LaSal mountains and in to Colorado. It's a very slow, but beautiful route home. I ended up in Montrose for the night and took Colo. Hwy 50 to Gunnison and again went over Cottonwood pass. It was a long quiet trip until I got on I-70 east into Denver and traffic was even bad going east from Silverthorne to Denver, but those on a Friday going west on I-70 were gonna have a long ahead of them. It was bumper to bumper for mile. Here's some pics of the sites I saw taking to roads less traveled.

Unless I need to make miles, I love traveling this way - taking the road less traveled. You see so much more, don't have to deal with traffic (typically) and just relaxing!

The views from your office are incredible!
It very much is at times. Back in the 90s I was a frequent flyer and to me that has too many restraints, plus I've always liked driving. I always doze off when I'm sitting around, but when I'm driving it's the opposite and I stay alert for hours. For many folks it's really tough to stay up and drive for many miles. People all the time ask me how I do it.

You live in a spectacular part of the country. Kansas would be tougher to stay enthused...Sorry Kansas, I love a good corn field, too.

I use to drive to the lead mines in Missouri and take I-70 across Kansas. In the central part of Kansas there's these rolling hills that I thought were rather peaceful looking and unspoiled by even agriculture. Looked like a place you wouldn't see anyone for miles. I kinda go into a zone of sort on long stretches like that and sometimes come out of it to check and see how far I've gone and I'm a bit surprised that I can't even recall going by a town 50 miles behind me.
