Oh, Bridge, those bears are harmless, everybody knows that! The most you see of them is some scat they left behind, and maybe a paw print or two. When we see 'em, we chase 'em with the camera!! Tell your friends to come on over! It'll be worth their while, I guarantee. 'Course, I can't guarantee no confrontations with the gators, which in this part of the country are about as plentiful as the bears!

Glad to hear you're coming, and seriously, no critters to be afeared of! 8)

Hey Noodle,

Schloopy and I are planning on comin down. I've made reservations at the Super 8... Ok, tell me now!!!!! Should I cancel those and move to the Days in? The Super 8 is cheaper but I see that everyone is Radiating towards the Days in. Let me know!!! John and I are still trying to find a third person to cut down on costs. It's about 8 1/2 hours from us so it's cheaper the more folks we bring. I asked gred573 but he had some prior engagements. I also asked relikhunter but he as well has things going on at the same time. We'll continue the search. I sure look forward to seeing everyone. John and I are keeping our fingers crossed!!!!! Take care all....

I went with Days Inn because they list a casino AND FREE DRINKS! LOL
I picture two slot machines in a corner next to a water fountain.

I went with Days Inn because BB beat me with his landshark until I agreed that place would work, but I drew the line at the room HAVING two beds!!! IF I get there and there aren't two beds I am sleeping in the car or heading back to Missouri!!!!

RR, The Super 8 is 20 feet south of the Interstate and the Days Inn is 40 feet north of it. The IHOP is right between the two! BUT, there's a restaurant (I forgot which kind; changes weekly ) next to the Super 8. Your choice!

Glad to hear you and Schloopy are coming!!!!! That's GREAT news! Bring WSD with you. I think he's lookin' for a ride. (Boy, guys and gals, wouldn't you like to be a mouse in the corner on THAT trip! )

Watering hole? Yeah, a couple, I think. I believe there's one in the restaurant ( ) next to the Super 8 and another one just up the road apiece from the Days Inn in the parking lot of the old abandoned Wal-Mart. Just be aware that Louisiana is still in the dark ages; no holes open or sales done on Sundays. So stock up on Saturday! And there's lots of stocking-up places all around both motels, including the NEW WallyWorld just a farther piece up the road!

ONE MORE THING: We have high speed wireless Internet at the cabin, so feel free to bring your laptops.
