Finally found one of these little buggers today. This is from a new field the owner tells me has been hit pretty hard, boy was he not kidding. Signals were few and far between except for bullet casings, shotgun shells, this one

Nice one Bob. Always feels good to scratch one off. She should clean up nice with a little light electrolysis.

I've done some electrolysis with some locks and some big iron items with success, but I don't know if I have the ability to do it with this without toasting it. I haven't tried it with any coins yet.

I'll have to see if I can find a test coin and try it out.

Bob - don't use a large auto battery charger on something small like a coin, but try a small charger or AC adapter and only do it for a minute or so, then check it. Many times after just a short period the tarnish will wipe right off with your fingers. If not, do it for a bit longer and try again. Repeat until you have it like you want. Works great - I do it all the time.

Haha very cool, hopefully I can pull some out of this field and take the lead but I better hurry, I can hear the soybean or corn planting machines on their way
