That's what I thought. EVERYBODY! :)

Welp, I'm no different. I've given up after some long battles. But, I've also gotten stubborn and stayed until I either get the target or I know what it is and then quit. :)

I decided to stumble around the cornfield today and am feeling it now! Anyway, I didn't find very much:

There was this one hit that came in around 56-60 and repeatable. I started digging but after using the knife for about 15 minutes, I went back to the car and got the big gun, (sic shovel). I was going to find out what this one was or pull the hole in after me! ;)

I finally got down to it, just before I threw up my hands and cried uncle! LOL

I think you might have fall short of discovering China by about a foot. LOL

My arm is raised up lol bunch of times I'd give up but now with the AT Pro I don't haha. Glad to see a toy made in the good ole USA lol congrats on the finds!!!

HELLO... HELlo... Hello!!!! NICE... NIce... nice... FIND... FINd... find!!!! Way to stick to your guns. Get me a egg roll and general chow while your in there will ya!

I rarely give up but my mister isn't quite as persistent, lol! Love the little fire truck.

No excuse, carry a spade all the time in a cornfield.

I bought a T2 six weeks ago and have had to leave some big signals in the ground because I could not use a shovel. Bought a pro pointer and that has helped still need to go back to that parking strip and dig that 93 signal that escaped me at 11 inches

I admit I have ... I figure if I don't know what it was it doesn't matter .. i was too tired to dig anymore... on to better hooles!

Really cool toy truck, I love finding old toys. They just don't make toys like they used to

Been down that hole diggin road. . . . I have been down about a foot and still didn't come up with the goods. I convinced myself that it was a large hunk of iron and I didn't need it. But I do remember where it is, and the odds are, I will be back!

More than 1 after 10 Inches I Have Had Enough!!! HH Chug

Thanks for all the responses folks! This one was a little bit special! I was more than impressed that the AT could give me a repeatable decent signal at that depth in very mineralized soil!

Does anyone think that this find was NOT a part to some sort of padlock?

Stay the course friends! There's more to be found.

I wonder if that ruler is from one of Spiro Agnew's early political races in the 50's. He became vice president under Nixon. His middle name is Theodore. HH, OldSean

YES GIVEN UP QUITE A FEW TIMES ,ESP WHEN I WAS FIRST STARTING Im pretty sure I missed my first Artillery shell along the way but I like to think they were all deep Alu. Can,s. Guess ill never know.

I've definately given up, especially if it's in a park and is VERY deep. Also, I've scooped down several feet in the wash at the beach and have given up. :BangHead:

I have given up on targets in the past, recently, and probably will in the future. When I am digging someplace with manicured grounds such as a yard, school, park, etc. I have to walk away occasionally. When my detector says "dime at 6 inches" and I have an eight inch deep hole and my pinpointer shows nothing in the bottom or sides, it's time to walk away. Never a good idea to dig a crater in these spots. Now, when in a crop field, I carry a Lesche relic shovel and I WILL find that target!

I found one of those the other day in a hay field. No idea what it is.
