OK guys I’m trying I cleaned this button up enough that I could read who made it it’s Waterberry Button Co. The problem I’m having a hard time googling what the front of the button looks like I’m putting eagle in circle with cross but obviously it’s not working any suggestions?

American eagle in an Iron cross...I like dingode's suggestion. Some type of service.

As I get looking around, the Maltese cross is often featured in firefighting gear.

Here is a sample.

I looked through 21 pages of fire department buttons on the Waterbury website and did not find one remotely similar to Truth's. And, a search of Maltese crosses didn't show anything close either. A search for iron cross turned up nothing.
Here's the link to Waterbury if anyone else wants to look.

I just looked through 40 pages of buttons using just the word "Eagle" and didn't find anything.

I sure will Gare I’m going to take better pictures. It says Burberry Button Co. I’ve been looking through all the Google images and I haven’t seen one like it. It’s frustrating but educational at same time

Huh! Spanish-American War. Just after that (1898) is when the VFW was created. Nice find!
