OK guys which coil Sun Ray S-5, Excellerator 5" or just keep the tornado 8"?

Does any one have either of these coils? If so what are your thoughts on them compared to the tornado 8"? I kind of thought about getting one but was wondering since the tornado 8" coil does only measure 7-1/2 inches, would a 5 inch coil be worth the investment for sniffing out goodies in a real trashy area, since all DD coils are good at seperation, Tim

{explorer se pro} I have the sunray x5 stealth I love it and I dug a quarter at 10 inches the 8 slim line I have as well and it dose not do a good job and I dont get the depth hope I helped

where I live they will not let you detect the parks you will get your detector taken away by the cops so I have to hunt at old houses and wow all the trash the 8 inch is just not small enough but in parks I sure it works fine

Wow, erubio74!!! What state do you live in? That seems like really harsh treatment. A fine or warning would be enough, but to take someone's $1000 machine is a farse. JMHO

KEEP THE STOCK ONE.

You will lose depth with a smaller coil.
If you know your machine, you will not need a small coil. You can do the same with the 8 as you can the 5

KEEP THE STOCK ONE.

You will lose depth with a smaller coil.
If you know your machine, you will not need a small coil. You can do the same with the 8 as you can the 5

Well I have the stock 10" and I agree with you on with knowing how to run your unit. I am going to stick with the 10" for general purpose hunting and switch to the 5" for sidewalks, shrubs and such around old houses, Tim
