The weather broke enough for me to make a walk happen. I chose my cornfield.
I stayed to the most open spots and the easiest to dig.

Judging by my history with hunting cornfields, i did fairly well, (for me).

If that's a .22 shell, it's the longest one I have ever seen! LOL

I believe that the bent one used to be a button also.
And, FOUR buttons! In one day? In a cornfield? A new record! LOL

Also, finding TWO coins there is really good for me!
Even if it is just two whole wheat toasts. ;)

Well, it is just clad, but, it IS shiny!! LOL

So, with that, I say, game on! :)

Thanks for peeking!

Great job nice finds Id be very happy with those. Have you ever seen Children of the Corn ??

Nice hunt, Whadi! What is the intriguing silver blob on the ruler? Is it decorated or marked, hard to tell? The flat buttons ruled the day, congrats. Sub 8-)

Nice digs Whadi. :occasion14: I see you mix it up, fields, parks, mansions, etc.

Looks like some old buttons! Now let's find those old(er) coins that go with them!:icon_thumright:

Glad to see the coach put you back in the game. I haven't taken time to check fields here yet. After the deluge of rain the other day, I could see water sitting on top of the ground, so I assume frost is still there.

I'm not certain about the blob but it appears to be some sort of stainless. It shows where it was broken off something, it's heavy, and it's completely non-magnetic. I suspect some sort of jaw-clamping sort of tool.

The buttons were a saving grace for the day. Fascinating to me to reach back thru time and pull these through. Too bad I can't read much on them. One does have the word "GILT" on it. :dontknow:

Wouldn't mind finding coins as old every time out, but, it would just get boring. ;)

Thanks!

There are still some frozen spots but if you can stay to spots that have sun exposure for most of the day, it's workable.
I'm not back in the game yet, just sort of "practicing", ya know? ;)

Oh my yes! All of those AND beachcombing, water hunting, bottle digging, parking lots, coinstars, and even an occasional coin roll. LOL

I DO try to keep it exciting. :)

I even do a really slow, archaeologist's type dig on a target, just so I can sloooooooowly see my newest treasure come into the light of day! :)
As soon as I see the glint of silver/gold, I stop and just sit there and dream for a while! :)

Thanks!

good hunt whadifind. At least in the corn field you probably don't have to deal with any Debbie Downers,lol.-HH Gary

A very nice sprint on the practice field, congrats!
A record amount of buttons (for you) ! Great job! I thought that bent one was a love token at first.
The silver looking blob is intriguing. I would have gotten just a little ( lol! greatly!) excited if I'd dug that....along with the shiny dime.:sly:
Now I have some idea of how Blingie feels about the " shiny shiny":D

You must be preping to find the mother load come spring!
Go for it!!!

Nice hunt and nice assortment of goodies
