Much better photos that time.
If I found it I would call it a Bolen.
The rest of course is up to you.. I'm only looking at photos.
My opinion is definitely no better than centfladigger.
It's just that.. an opinion.
That cross section doesn't look right for a Duval to me either.... Jackson... Mabey.
Your other one looks like a drill with a broken bit...or a graver.

"well made Duval." THESE 3 WORD NEVER GO TOGETHER, LOL

What else would you call this?
Sorry about posting this but I'm curious.
Found amongst pottery shell and other woodland artifacts.
Capitalizing the words never..ect.. doesn't seem quite necessary.

Some longer stemmed Woodland points, some Duval. Maybe that point is a Kirk Stemmed!!!?!??!?!!

Ok so went back today and found this point very close to the spot I found the other. both were on the surface. Their styles look so much different to me this one is extremely crude compared to the white one..also included this perfect echinoderm i found near by.

That one is Archaic...probably middle. ( Newnan)
I don't know enough about your site to rule out time periods mixing but both being surface finds close to eachother would make me think the other has a good chance of being older than woodland.

both near the bottom of a hill, entire area below is hardpan so everything is washing out of the sides of the hill. Id say there is definately mixing based on the pottery types

Well.. just for argument sake... lets say the first one is early Archaic
Then look at this example of an early archaic Kirk stemmed variant.

here are some side shots and a shot of the back. this new one is much broader, much less flaking, and a lot thinner

gatorboy, I also collected some of those disc fossils I was asking about, I will post them in the fossil section.

Good stuff man!
Your going to find a killer soon I bet.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to give me input on this post.

Looks like you may have coral at that site judging by that new one.

the link isnt working. Im at home in the silurian, ordovician, and devonian. A lot of the stuff down here is a mystery to me. I was thinking this new point was chert with cross sections of shells in it. There are a TON of flakes of the same material, and it is heavy in fossil content
