Found between where an old house used to be and a creek. House was gone by the 1930s. Area was heavily logged in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Bank goes from flat where the house to used to be and gradually slopes towards the creek. The axe head was found around 20 feet from where the slop starts and around 40 feet from the creek. I figure the people who had the house left it, or it could of been washed down from upstream?
It was found several inches down. The metal detector barely picked it up it was so deep.
