Was in this cool old building that was a bank way back when and the old vault is still there so I took these photos. Cool to image all the cash and coins (probably gold coins too) that went in and out of there. A huge room inside, not just a small vault but the size of a small house inside. Patent on lock closeup you might be able to see is year 1871...very cool ornate silver on doorjam reading Diebold Safe & Lock, Canton, O(hio)...

Those older vaults were really a work of art! Thanks for the photos!

Like the pic of the vault, thanks for sharing. :headbang:

very cool......

I used to own a sports card shop. The building was built back in the late 1800s I surmise. The neat part was that the front of it had been a bank. Had a big vault with shelves in it. When I moved in, I had to get a professional locksmith come and unlock the tumbler for me. It was really cool, because every night before we closed up- I put all of our high priced cards and stuff in the vault. I wasn't the least bit worried about anyone breaking in and stealing anything. They would've needed dynomite to blow it open. :laughing7:

No, I never found any old coins in it anywhere, darn it :'(
