Re: old book printed in 1945 on the USS O'BANNON

A few years ago I was in an antique mall and came upon a box of misc. papers. Magazines, greeting cards, old travel stuff, etc. Looked like part of cleaning out grandmas attic. I noticed something hanging out that caught my eye. I found volume one and two of a newsletter from the USS Bataan. Jan and Feb 1944. Paid .50 cents for them. I have them in page protectors. Some of the print is faded and a bit hard to read. One has a listing of the crew. Being a Navy veteran it was a specail find.

I will probabaly donate them to the Naval park in the nearby city.

An updater on my previous. I did a little reading on the USS Bataan. Seems that it was originally named the USS Buffalo. It was changed prior to commissioning in Dec 1943. The ironic part is that the "nearby city with the Naval Park is Buffalo! seems only fitting that the newsletters go there.
