Old brass button???

[tin-basher]

I found this old button on a site where the British solders camped in 1814 before moving north in central Ontario Canada. I am not sure if it is an old button or not It sure looks like one. It has a bit of weight to it and it is metal. If anyone could let me know if it is a button and how old I would really appreciate it.........Don......

Kinda looks like a crotle bell

That is so ironic. My wife said that is what it was. Thank you very much....

These are the sleigh bell type that went in rows on the leather.
