Old button

Hey everyone,

I found this button awhile ago. It is one of my favorite finds. There are no markings on the back. I've always wondered about it. There is gold inlay. I don't know much else. Thanks in advance.

It's an early 1 piece button. Could date from the late 1700's up to the 1840's in general. Pretty nice find with a lot of gilt still on it.
