Old Church Site

I found this old church site and stopped by there today to see if I could find any information on who may own the property or building since the church appears to be long closed. While walking around the property I noticed a bunch of fire ant mounds and this mounds in the picture I have no clue what type of mound this could be. I found some images of ones that look like this but it said it was a crawfish hole. I live about 30 miles outside of Houston, TX and from what I know crawfish do not live here.

Anyone know what these could be? I have been able to locate the contact information but would like to know what I am up against should they give me permission to hunt here as there were about 20+ of these mounds in the short distance I walked the property.

Down here we call those crawdad holes. They pop up whenever we get a lot of rain.
