A fellow was asking $20 for this sign so, I bought it. I'm not a sign person. My question is what age and what kind of value if any? The two pictures are before and after I rinsed it off.

Sorry about the sideways pictures. I submitted this from my phone. I actually live on level ground!

Im guessing Early 1900's? If you google that brand, there are all sorts of signs. I guess they used to come with baseball cards

not quite the Same But you gotta like the price Tag :laughing7:

PIEDMONA CIGARETTES SIGN

If I (we) can find out when the average price of a pack of Cigs was 5 Cents

we could have a clue on age.

in the '30's 10 cents so Diggin is probably right

I just read that the average price of smokes in the 20's were 15 cents to a Quarter a pack.

If I had to guess, it would be in the 1909-1911 range...again..I do alot of guessing..lol

for 20 bucks....You got a hell of a deal

I figured it had to be worth the twenty bucks. It's now on the side of my reproduction smoke house. Thank you both for your input. BTW, I also got two iron wash kettles for ten dollars a piece as well.

Over $100 all day long !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Well I for one would love a pack of these babies... They're the cigarette of quality!
Nice score!

It's the beginning of my sign collection! I'm now up to one!

Nice New Hobby there my friend!!

that explains Piedmona being hard to find on google

I had a somewhat local collector I.D it as being from 1905-1912. The offer of $175 for it was politely declined.

A number of identical ones have sold on ebay. In that condition I'd expect a value of 250-300, based on what has sold. Very nice score.

I collected and sold antique porcelain and tin signs for some years and for sure you got a steal at twenty bucks. Looks like 3' tall by 2' wide, also guessing it is single sided? Also agree with Plumbatas findings, 200-300 plus at most upscale antique shop around the U.S. If you have it hanging out side you might want to want to wipe it down with some rust inhibitor ever so often. That's what I do a least. Forgot to add that generally speaking with signs like this larger the sign the more value it has.

Thanks Helix. I'm going to wipe it down and move inside the building to prevent further weather damage.

I collect old sports items and have a collection of these cards from The early 1900's...are you selling?

I think I'm going to hang on to it. However, I would like to see those cards you have. Please post pictures here if would like.
