That looks like a flowing hair cent or half cent. If it is than it is a valuable find. Overall great finds with the coins!

good thoughts but comparing those coins to this one just doesn't add up.
what little detail on the upper portions of the coin's front doesn't align with either braided or half cent coins...

the two large cents are on there for reference (found in the same yard the same day). i know what they are. its the one worn coin i cant ID. the silhouette on the unknown coin goes up to high to the corner of the coin (way high at 12 o'clock) to be a large cent. plus its very thin, 2/3 thickness of any large cent in my collection (not including the super think ones).

My best guess would be George II, but so little to go on I couldn't even suggest whether it's Irish or British, or old or young bust.... and without knowing that, it's a pretty weak case to say that's what it is, but that's the profile it most resembles to me. To roll the dice, I'd bet George II Hibernia pre 1760 bust.

Normally I don't recommend polishing coins, but this coin is in poor 2. Polishing it will not devaluation the coin because it is already damaged. If you polish it then the mystery will be over of what coin it is.

Thanks for help. I'm thinkin iron patch is on. But Ross that looks faintly close too. Maybe I'll give it a polish but honestly I would probably mess it up if I do so I better keep at it with a q-tip.

Have you tried a peroxide soak with a little brushing? Even just a bit more detail might be enough for a conclusive ID.

That is king George 2 or 3 that dates from the mid 1700s to the early 1800s.

These coins are fun to find and relatively common in low grades. These coins are a dime a dozen.

Can you make anything out on the other side at all? Some better pics of it might help as sometimes even the slightest detail in combination to what we see on the obverse can tell the story. My previous guess hasn't changed, but still am not totally confident yet.
