Old coins from club hunt

[davidco]

Our club held a hunt at an old oval in the hills last Sunday. Plenty of old coins were found, here is a picture of the coins my wife and I found. All were between six and nine inches deep. I have also added a pic of an old medal I found at Easter and have now cleaned.

Excellent bunch of coins and the medal is really nice. It's great that your club had an old spot that had so many targets. Is the oval a horse track?

Hi Doug
The oval was a cricket and Aussue rules ground also used for shows etc at the turn of 1900s with a small railway station close by.
I am sure there are plenty more coins there too just need to work low and slow.
