Old Copenhagen snuff lid with knob

Found this lid while I was using a metal detector in a old burned down logging camp. Can anyone identity when this style was used and what It was used for . Thank You

That's pretty odd. If you google 'vintgage copenhagen snuff can and select images, you see all styles going way back, but nothing similar to yours. What is the diameter of that?

I don't chew the stuff, but that's cool! Unable to post link but I did some searching and found a 6" Copanhagen milk glass jar or crock as they called it. Looked to be same lid.
