On Saturday, I found this at a farm site that dates back to the early 1800's. I had to do some research in order to figure out what it is. It's an 1862 British Half Penny. The obverse shows a very young Queen Victoria. The reverse a sitting Liberty, not unlike the one we use here in the United States.

I'll let the Coppa experts declare it to be "Old Coppa" or not. I'm not sure because it's not an American coin.

Well, it's old and it's copper but, I don't think they are gonna let you in the club yet. I'm not there yet either.
Nice find regardless!

Nice coin,

I've been lucky enough to find one of those myself. Nice looking coins.

Pretty cool find DM. That's an old critter...definately an "old coppa" in my book.

Super find, Diggin! Congrats! Nana :)

Haven't heard out of any of the experts from BDD, so for now, I'll assume it's not. :(

I don't know if it is coppa or not but I sure like it. I'd be thrilled to find one of those. WTG!

Whatever you want to call it, it's a great find!
