Sometimes, at the end of their working day, metal workers in the zinc industry had small amounts of molten zinc left in their crucibles. They would press shapes into damp sand and pour in the last drops of metal to make various objects to take home. Spelter is another name for zinc.

) bought a couple of those when we lived in SE Asia in the 60's - but I wouldn't pick the phoenix/eagle as Indian Brass
