This has been the slowest start ever to a year, my only second trip today. I went back to one of my faithful fields for a short three hour hunt, this is the field were I found the gold stirrup ring a while back and it produces hammered coins, hard to find but they are there. Walked on to the field and the very first signal...hammered, first silver of the year. You would be forgiven if you thought this was going to be a red letter hunt...wrong turned out to just about the opposite, still I'm off and running, not a great one to start, but a interesting one, and one I have not had before.
