Multi use hook that was bolted thru a wood timber. size indicates maybe for chain use.

Fairly substantial hook. I agree with the intent being to be bolted through a beam or truss. Possibly to support a pulley.

I Greatly appreciate your thoughts all. I really like the idea of it being bolted through a beam or timber.

The great picture that was sent seems to support that idea as well.
