If you could show more pics of the other side and how thick it is it would be easier to tell
 

A preform perhaps?
 

Discarded biface. I see a hairline crack across the tip. Also, that area just above the indentation is a fatal flaw. I have buckets of bifaces I found at flint quarries and every one has some flaw that made them reject it. If it was a good one, they didn't leave it for me to find. Gary
 

Could be any of the replies but could also be a flaked ax or adze blade. Its quite large, very nice find Id be thrilled to find that.
 

I will take more pictures tonight of the reverse side.. Thanks for the comments all..A guy a few years ago told me he thought it may be a flaked axe..Its quite large I think over 7"
