Hello,
Rummaging through the shed at home and found this old reel I have not seen in ages - think I got it from Dad? Anyway it has HENDRYX and PAT MAR 21 1876 + PAT JULY 10 1888 stamped, on the other side it has 150 stamped in between 4 rivets. I made a quick google search and found these were mass produced in the early days but some are rare so .. does anyone recognise the model? Type? Style of fishing it was for? Have I found treasure or just a nice old reel? Also cleaning with Brasso Ok or should I just leave it as is?
Thanks.

Looks like a raised pillar Salmon Fishing reel, my next door neighbour gave me one very similar to yours, it had been painted black, so I stripped the paint off, back to the Brass and sold it for £200....nice reel.
