Old foreign coin found. Think its Chinese, Need some ID help!!!!

Found this coin at on old homestead about 2 weeks ago. The house dates to the late 1700's. I think its a chinese coin however im just guessing. Its alittle large then a nickle and looks to be either cooper, or bronze. It features a square hole in the center and has some symbols on the sides that look like tick tack toe symbols. Any info on age or country would be cool. Thanks

Yes, definitely a Chinese coin . . . some of the guys on here have dug caches of these so they might be able to give a little more info, but I doubt any of us will be able to date it. Nice find

Yeah its a Chinese cash coin. If you Google Chinese cash coin you'll come up with websites that can ID the dynasty that the coin dates from. Nice Find.

The nearest I can tell from your photos is that is
from the Ch'i9ng dynasty from 1644 - 1911 a.d..
Quite a long run.

I like the Chinese cash coins. They're neato.

They made SO many of them, for SO long, it seems like they don't have much value as collectibles.

Your coin is pretty worn, but from what I can see I think it is from the Chien-Lung period, dating it to between 1736 and 1796.

The characters may vary slightly from coin to coin, but I will paste a selection of Chien-Lung coins here that you can compare to yours.

You really only need to worry about the top and bottom characters on the side that I show here.
