Checked out 5 different spots in the old woods this weekend. Much more hiking and climbing than swinging. 4 out of 5 spots were duds, but that's how it goes. As I got near the one productive site I dug this old transistor radio about 8" down.

Then about 15' further toward the cellar hole I got a strange signal, bounced high-mid, high-high and high-low. Since it had a consistent High and at least one direction high-high I decided to dig. First scoop and out popped roundness that was totally encrusted with brown and light, figured it was an aluminum token. After cleaning turned out to be a 1943 2 Franc coin.

Swung over the hole and a true high tone but deep, dug another scoop and out popped a large round coin.

Filled the hole and swung to check and another high tone 8" away, dug a new hole and saw my favorite sight, silver edge.

Has the letters "SUPE..." fancy design and some gilt.

Oh, we saw this on the path to the last site.
