Got out to a new site last night and got some interesting finds. Several pocket watches in poor condition. One find at first I thought was a silver dollar and in really poor condition. After I got home it appears to be a silver pocket watch face but the edge has ridges like a coin and it is much larger than a morgan silver dollar and has a small hole in the middle. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on some nice finds

Did "timelord" live there? Maybe the home of a jeweler or watch repairman in the 1800's. Very cool finds, congrats. Sub 8-)

Congratulations
Must have been a get together for a bunch of retirees.
Hey,, what time is it??

Congrats on some great finds. The piece in question very well could be a pocket watch face. Older watches had a porcelain coated face and at some point the porcelain cracked and came off, leaving the bare metal face underneath exposed.

Nice finds. Hit it some more, there is something special hiding there.

I cleaned several of the watches trying to date this site. Im guessing he was always running late. The land owner dozed the site so im going to be taking my sifter next visit.20160806_212139.webp
