Hello All. These finds are from 2 hunts last week at an empty small town lot that had 4 houses on it at one time. An local old timer told me that two of them burned down and the other two were demolished. The result is a very trashy site that has taken some extra patience to detect...but no worries, patience I got.

Got some OK finds including Wheaties, a rosie, a silver spoon, and an interesting decorative silver lid to something. See last pictures, any idea of what this went to? My sons says it's the top to a liquor decanter or perfume bottle.

Thanks for the view and good luck. C9

Nice haul of older relics. Congrats on the 59 rosie and the intricate sterling lid.

That is a great assortment of cool stuff! Congrats on the silver, love that lid. I love finding the pocket knives, one of my sons collects them and claims all the ones I find as his.

That's a good haul on sterling ! Does the end of the spoon look like it used to turn all the way in a curve ? I've seen baby spoons
like that . Is the silver cap threaded on the underside ?

Hello Argentium. Can't tell if the spoon had a curve on the end, the tip is broken off but it looks kind of big to be a baby spoon...besides wife says it's a sugar spoon and wives are always correct right?

Cap has no threading, it's smooth inside. I posted it in "What Is It" with a bottom view. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the reply. C9

The silver cap may have been a top for a cosmetic bottle or small jar - It is reminiscent of the lids to glass containers in a ladies vanity
set (circa 1890's- 1910) that would include silver set mirrors , combs , brushes , various cosmetic/perfume jars , bottles , etc.
