Old lantern piece

Hi! I have been metal detecting in southeast Louisiana for about 3 years. Decided I would join. This is my find from today. Piece off of a kerosene lantern. Not the most stunning piece however significant to our history.

Good morning and welcome to TNet where all finds have a story to tell. The size of that burner is a bit big for a typical lantern. That I believe would be part of a burner from a antique kerosene chicken coop heater.

Cajunbear here. I'm from south Louisiana. Just starting the hobby.
I live near Breaux Bridge currently but have lived in Denham Springs, Harvey and Plaquemine as well. I've only played around in my yard to learn my machine. No real hunts yet. I'm wanting to go to City Park in New Orleans. I'm sure its been cleaned out by now though. If you ever want to partner up, let me know.
