Old lid with griffin design

Found at another site I haven't been to in a month. This looks like a lid or cap to something with a cool griffin animal design is what it looks to me. It's got threads on other side.

It might be for the Griffin Manufacturing Company of Brooklyn, NY. They first used that trademark in 1915 but didn’t register it until 1949, for “Cleaning fluid for wearing apparel, fabrics, upholstery and carpets; and liquid preparation for cleaning and polishing shoes.”

A while ago, someone posted an octagonal cap from a squeezable tube that I thought probably related to one of their products but it went otherwise unidentified:

It looks the same as there logo. Thanks red coat. I thought it might been perfume or something
