Hey hey fellow treasure hunters,
Took a tour around the base oval for an hour after dinner, came up with a few interesting things. Figured I would share with my fellow treasure hounds. Not to sure what the long narrow thing is yet, maybe something to do with holding bullets ? Found the button to be from an army uniform from 1911 - 1903. The bullet I dont know anything but its a full metal jacket, lead filled, and an inch long. Would love to know what that little brass clasp thing is from too. Well there they are, any idea's would be great. L8R

The first item looks like the back portion of a two hole punched paper file holder... um, you know, the metal thing that has the pieces that goes through the two holes, bends over, and then is secured by little metal sleeves that hold the two bendy things down?

I need a drink.

That last item is a snap grommet from an old pouch... canteen or utility (first aid) pouch kinda deal-e-o. The below post has the item IDd by CharlieP...

Plattsburg... what an awesome place. I was stationed at Griffiss for 13 years. I miss NY terribly.

I kept thinking "thats the bottom of a magazine... maybe M-16 carbine series". But it's too different, and I would have no idea about the M-1 Garand magazine. Then in a flash I had this "office supply" item stuck in my head and it was so clear! LMAO! ::) I just ran with it!

aa - I'd follow you to hell and back if you say thats what it is... I'm with ya'!

my greatest fear is that someone thinks I know what I'm talking about...

Okay, sorry, now I hafta disagree... I found a picture of M-1 Garand mags. They look different. :-\ Still could be from another model magazine I guess... M-1 Carbine? Anyone?

You know... the 5.56 come packaged on a "clip" that kinda holds them for speed loading with a stripper clip device. It also kinda looks like that...

I think I will retreat from my office supply metal clip thinggy guess... your prolly on to something. :)

Dunno bout the other stuff..but that's a great button!!

Congrats! Nana :)

Definitely a stripper clip. Last item is a snap from a pouch or canteen insulator like mentioned earlier.

Be careful Jim, they wear little white coats, and I'm pretty sure they're lookin for you.

Hm... office supplies on base?? If you think about it.. there are probably more of the hole punch strip things on the average base then there are stripper clips.. ah hm.. well.. NOT Marine bases.. so except at the actual firing range you probably more likely to find the first more so then the stripper clips.

Is this an active base? How did you get permission?
