Old mill?

I found this foundation in the woods. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of where to detect. I don't think it was a house since it sits on the water. there is an old dam on the other side of the pond, but the entire foundation sits in about 3 feet of water. I' ve detected around the waters edge and have found nothing any ideas of how to attack it or what it might have been.

I've got an old mill I'm still trying to figure how to approach--although much of that is due to the masses of aluminum from years of partying. Best I'm been able to think of is if you can figure out where the door was, the path leading up to it, and any road the path would have been from. Any of that visible?

There is a path that goes to the dam from the site but I can't find anything except cans and pull tabs. It always amazes me that no matter how far you go in the woods there is always trash. Thanks for the tips.
