Ventured back to a trashy park I tend to hit when other opportunities are thin. Park tends to be stingy on the silver but usually coughs up a wheat or two. Decided to wander to the other side of the park and tackle a hill side I've not paid much attention to. Was pleasantly surprised at the relative lack of trash. Managed to pull a few more good targets than usual.

4th of July finds...

1929 Mercury Dime
(9) Wheatback pennies...1916, 1918, 1928(2), 1940, 1941, 1944, 1944-D, 1951-D
1955 Canadian cent
Junk ring

You'd think a ring sporting a $ would be made of at least silver. Appears to be plated. :BangHead:

Good work on the hill, nice haul!

Nice finds!

Ya I hate when that happens! You get all happy and excited, then you find out it's plated.
Still a nice find!

still fun to find, sure is nice to find a spot that has less trash

Great hunt! Congrats!

That's a fantastic hunt! To put it into perspective, I hunted yesterday 6am till noon, and back out at 6:30pm till 9pm and came away with two newer wheats and a bunch of clad. So that Merc is looking mighty good to me right now. Congratulations!

Good spot, multiple wheats and a silver is good in my book!

I just love it when you can find a place in a park with little to no trash !!! Looks like you had a pretty good hunt, silver is nice anytime. I hit an old 1940's school this morning and found 68 cents in clad, nothing deemed "cool" at all. It's there, I just haven't found it yet. Just started hunting this place. Only two pull tabs in two hours, I was pleased.

I have many days like that.:laughing7:
