What Controls are on it ?

If it's equil to the 5000D or 6000D Series 2 or newer
Yes.

By the Batteries I'm guessing 6000D Series 2

are their 6 Controls

One with

All metal, GEB Normal, TR & GEB MAX ?

thats the one, always looking for a backup for the dfx, just talked to a guy at whites he sad 10-20 bucks tops, can't believe thats all its worth, shes purty, looks new

From the Link Jeffro provided I would say 5000-D Series 2

But Disagree with him on value.

I say $70.00 is a good price.

It is a little Cumbersom especially IF your used to
todays Detectors.

But it will get 8" on a Quarter.
and in some cases deeper.

how about batteries?

I used to get the 6 Cell packs at Radio Shack.
Never found the 8's there. But don't remember IF they could have Orderd them.

This Could be a Problem.

You may want to ask first.

thanks guys

No matter what, You don't want to Substitute 9Volts
for the Packs.

You won't get the Correct Power.

You could also Check EBay

thanks jeff, don't think i'll give him 70 though, have to find out how $ batteries will cost, maybe some of tnet will give there opinions

Sorry I thought you Knew what the Packs looked Like.

They are Plastic packs that you put
AA Batteries in. & have 9Volt Type Connectors.

So whatever 14 AA Batteries would Cost.

Plus the Cost of the Packs to hold them

I''ll search EBay for a Pic of one.

Hey, that was my 1st detector...well, mine is Model # 321.59641. It was borrowed from a friend to find boundary markers on the property. I used for a few times, after years being here the original owner did not want it back. No instruction booklet with it so I really didn't know how to operate it...but it sure could find the iron.

I can't say on the price...but it is heavy as I don't know what. I did wind up putting a carrying strap on to ease the weight. It's my back up in case something happens to my Ace 250.

Thanks, for the link, Jeffro...I guess the booklets are more or less alike. If you run across a link for this model, let me know.

I use the 8 packs and I remember buying it at Radio Shack. They're pretty cheap, a couple bucks is all. Maybe you're thinking of the 6 packs that aren't available? I dunno, but I do have an 8 pack in my GM Vsat.

To find manuals for these older whites models, just go to the website. They're under support-manuals- older models- sears- by model number.

This battery pack thing has me baffled. I never had a battery pack inside mine, maybe it was modified before I got my hands on it ??? It takes 2 9 volts and 1AA.

;) RR

a battery specialty store like batteries plus which is a nationwide chain can build you a pack that would work, or whites might even have some available...

The 8 and 6 AA packs have the leads for 9 volts on them. Some people just put in 9 volts when the packs break. You might wanna get the packs and put in the AA's.

checked with whites........nada

again, check with a battery specialty store or possibly kellyco might have something, Ive seen them carry oddball stuff.

If you have an old pack those can be rebuilt too at a specialty battery store.

I don't think the 7.50 price for the pair on EBay is
over priced.

they should last a long time.

Maybe you can get a $10.00 Discount on the Detector since you need
to Replace the Holders
