Yes. The CSS Shenandoah continued as a commerce raider after the War was over. She killed off the American whaling industry, which was limping along (based on a reduced demand for whale oil) when the War started. Shenandoah destroyed many whaling vessels and there was no economic benefit to replacing them.

The assertion that Jeff. Davis's specie-train, of six to thirteen million dollars, was reported to be moving south from Goldsboro' in wagons as fast as possible, found plenty of willing ears, though my army of eighty thousand men had been at Goldsboro' from March 22d to the date of his dispatch, April 26th; and such a train would have been composed of from fifteen to thirty-two six-mule teams to have hauled this specie, even if it all were in gold. I suppose the exact amount of treasure which Davis had with him is now known to a cent; some of it was paid to his escort, when it disbanded at and near Washington, Georgia, and at the time of his capture he had a small parcel of gold and silver coin, not to exceed ten thousand dollars, which is now retained in the United States Treasury-vault at Washington, and shown to the curious.

The thirteen millions of treasure with which Jeff. Davis was to corrupt our armies and buy his escape, dwindled down to the contents of a hand-valise!

I'm sure a great deal of gold, silver and silverware, and other valuables, was hidden on plantations all over the South. How found the $20,000 in 1883 - and in what form was the blunt?

"If you only base the CSA Treasure upon the OR then you will say there was not one cent missing. Incidentally there was over $100,000 taken from President Davis and his traveling companions."

The Official Records don't show any recovery from Jefferson David by the soldiers who captured him. What evidence is there Davis had $100,000 - and who took it?

"More was hidden at the capture site was retrieved later and carried back to Michigan by a soldier in the 4th Michigan. How much was taken by other troops is not known."

Hard to argue with the second point. Who found the other plunder?

According to the research I've conducted, Davis had at most a few thousand dollars with him. The rumor about milllions was circulating without a basis in fact. It appears to have been spread by officials in the North - that was certainly one of Gen. Sherman's points.

I'm not sure what you mean by "cancelled." It appears the US Mint at Charlotte was seized in April 1861 and ceased coining in October 1861. If that is the case, why would have gold have remained there in April 1865?

I've read some claims about robberies - and stories about recoveries from some of those robberies. The thieves couldn't have made off with more than there was to start with - and all the documentation I've found indicates the total amount missing wouldn't be more than $50,000. Real money, no doubt - particularly in mid-19th Century specie. Hardly millions, however.

Some of that CSA gold & silver specie along with Confederate paper bills made it to Florida.Davis's baggage and $35,000 was captured by Union forces at David Levy Yulee's Cottonwood Plantation in Archer,Florida,May 28,1865.Also part it was used as escape money by CSA Sec of State Judah P Benjamin(Yulee's cousin),CSA Sec of War John C Breckinridge,and CSA Capt John Taylor Wood (Davis's nephew)as they traveled down the Oklawaha River to Ocala,Florida in May,1865,and then sailed out of the country.Benjamin to the Bahamas,Breckinridge and Wood to Cuba.

There was no $35,000 captured at the Cottonwood Plantation, only President Davis' personal belongings of which I have an inventory. There was $25,000 cancelled along the railroad tracks that has not been found? That is if Davis' kin that were escorting the money did not return to recover the money-------which I believe he did. The escape money for Judah Benjamin, John C. Breckenridge and John Taylor Wood were given to them long before they got to the Cottonwood Plantation.

LARGEST UNDERGROUND K.G.C. REPOSITORY TO BE UNCOVERED!

There exists to this day, an institution that was founded by the Knights of the Golden Circle before the Civil War began. This institution was responsible for the recovery of gold and riches that was brought out of Atlanta and other places before the South fell to the Union. This gold / booty was carried a safe distance and then temporarily hidden to protect it from falling into Yankee hands.
In 1865-66 this same K.G.C. institution, funded a former Rebel officer (K.G.C. Knight) who knew where the loot was stashed. The K.G.C. retrieved the stashed gold and deposited the bulk of it into their repository and made several other caches within a 50 mile range. The rest of the gold was spread out and banked under so many names there was no way to tell that it was all part of the same slush fund.
from this cooped deposit the Order of American Knights began buying properties and business ventures under just as many names, adding new names as the deals were made. Politicians were bought,the judicial system was compromised, and the Order of American Knights began to flourish.
The days of secret meetings and covert operations were over. They ran the place, there was no reason to hide anymore. Slowly as any organization does without new members, the order began to die out. This would continue until the secrets were all gone. The money still remained and with it came power. This great wealth is being controlled by generations of ares that don't have any idea of their Knights of the Golden Circle heritage.
Some day soon, the truth about them is going to come out. Just look what they did to Paula Dean for having a couple of African Americans dress up at her wedding! What will they do when they find out about all of the things in their everyday life that came from the Knights of the Golden Circle and their investments 100 years ago Should be fun to watch! The gold was carried out of Atlanta by General Wheeler I know where the plantation was located. When they were building or repairing a bridge near the plantation the gold was found under an old stump on the bank. A black man that was a caretaker of the plantation told everyone it was buried on the plantation but no one knew where. I know the man's name that recovered the gold and started some businesses with the gold. The KGC had nothing to do with this treasure.

Must be another stash of gold. You couldn't fit this amount of hoard under a stump, it would be more like a city park full of stumps to cover it. Not just gold here many many other C.S.A.things
this gold was carried to it's new location by ox drawn wagons, no word on how mant they used to do it. OR how many trips they made.

Do you have anything to verify the ox drawn wagons? I don't know where you got your information but there was not that much gold in Atlanta. The gold had been moved to Macon and Augusta, Georgia.

" I didn't allude to where or by whom it was carried to those locations or that that was the only location that the C.S.A. hoard was brought from to this place. I have verified everything that I have stated beyond a doubt. I got my information from it's source. I am not speculating. I had also stated that it was not just gold they were hoarding.
