old silver coins??????

I came across 2 coins, not really old, but from 1982 and 1983, show to each be one ounce .999 silver, any ideas on where from or for what and are they worth anything as coins or just silver

Engelhard is a well known refiner of silver. The other is Mexican. Both are rounds, not coins issued for circulation. They are worth whatever the spot price is for the day. Hope this helps

The Mexican coin is known as a 1 Onza Libertad and was minted I believe from 1982 to 1991 and does have 1 Onza (ounce) of silver.
