Hello everyone. I went out on a quick hunt the other day and much to my surprise I found something very old and very nice. I went to a spot where my son's and I found a silver war nickel about a week ago. A part of the park that I have hunted several times and come home empty handed..Well except for the can slaw and pull tabs..This time was different. Took the Atpro and while hunting in Pro mode had a very strong 80+ Signal that was repeatable and LOUD!!! Almost blew my headphones off. I just knew I had a huge silver coin. Well I dug my plug and much to my surprise I saw a shiny small chain in the hole... Attached to it was a tiny square silver pendant. After looking at it I did a quick scan to make sure I got it all and then headed to the water to wash it off. After that I decided to head on to the store, where I was supposed to be in the first place...WHOOPS!!! After getting home I took the tiny pendant and looked at it under magnification. I could not read it..I don't know spanish so after trying google translator it couldn't translate it. Well I posted the picture on facebook and the lady informed me that the pendant was written in an old form of spanish. The way she explained it was that years ago Spanish was written differently, much like English was written different back in the day. I found an old Spanish couple that is friends with our family and they translated it for me. Here is the translation...

God, Since you have come to me. Make me not Separate any more from you. I give myself to your Sacred Heart. God, blessme and have mercy on me. AMEN

Beautiful little prayer and a Beautiful find for a few minutes of hunting. I have the chain and pendant getting restored as we speak. I will post pictures of the finished product next week when I get it back. Thanks for looking..zaxfire69

Thats beautiful! When do you think its from?

Nice prayer necklace, zaxfire69 and nice little bit of research to get it translated. I'm looking forward to seeing a photo of it when it's restored.

I'm not 100% sure on the date. Here is what I do know. I have found coins dating from 1909-1945 in the immediate area. This was down 4-5 inches. The chain was a solid chain. Did not have a clasp. Don't know if the clasp was missing or if it even ever had a clasp. I am keeping the chain solid like I found it. My wife has a very early 1920's Religious pendant that has a solid chain so it may be styled like that piece. Ya'll look at the last picture. The black thing in the background is my iPhone in its Case just for size reference.

I will post a picture for sure as soon as it is done.

Very neat and unique find. :icon_thumright: If it seems quite small it is possible it was meant for a child to wear. I have a friend from Columbia and she once gave me a small religious pendant (on a string) made for a young child to wear.

That is what I was thinking. It is tiny. Probably for a child.

I one similar it somewhere in my house .. I'll look tomorrow and show it ..
It is a Catholic religious prayer .. a bit unusual:

Lord (like Sir, how God is called in Spanish)
and you came to my
do not separate me more about you
Lord I surrender all buestro Sacred Heart
Lord I surrender
and have mercy on me
Amen.
is a very rare oration , unknown to me, this is religious medal early 20th.

I would love to see this Hispan. I actually had a an older Spanish couple translate it and it reads like you read it. I to believe early 20th century. Very Rare oration indeed. Pieces like this need to be preserved and that is what I'm going to do with this one. Thank you friend for your kind words on this.
