Old Spanish Silver Today

Hit the old ghost town again today. It was a bit tough swinging in the soybean stubble, but me and buddy TC4 did well. He got several old buttons and a old jail lock that he donated to the local museum. I ended up with a nice bit of a Spanish Peruvian 2 Reale that I believe is a 1816-1822. Thanks for looking and HH.

Its a beauty! Nice score.. in Illinois? if so thats the furthest west Ive seen a cut spanish

Thanks. Yes in Southern Illinois. This is my 5th at this location. 1807-1843

Wow :o Ive dug 9 cut pieces, all philip V pistareens (early 1700's) very cool to see other sizes and years especially in Illinois

Yes, a lot of people don't know this is where the term bits of a dollar came into being.
