Though this is from a land map but I bet that shipwreck folks probably have the most experience in old maps. There really is not a good category for this. Well the Spanish did consider the wide plains as a rolling sea in their writings...will that work? lol. Not really treasure related as far as i know so far.
This legend is from a map that traces a long trail. I believe from 1700's Can anyone give me an idea of what those one letter abbreviations mean in the legend? I am taking them to mean something like from point Y to point Z is 3 leagues to the northeast. Just want to know if i am on the right track. I don't understand how Soto is used in this legend. It sounds like a name but I "think" is treated like a location.. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm not making much progess on this through my usual research methods.
Thanks
