Old un-embossed cork top

Found this in the TOC dump. Cork top, seams ending prior to the lip. No embossing. Any idea what it may have been used for?

It looks roughly the size of a St. Jakob's Oel, though with a different finish. Could be many things, from a pain reliever to dye (hair or otherwise), scent, or cough medicine, something homeopathic, perhaps, and a host of other possibilities...
