Old Wagon Road

Today I went out to explore an old road that appeared to be a wagon road. I found many old horseshoes and a few oxen's shoes.

I also found a four-hole button, with an inscription "IMPROVED FOUR HOLES" and a small buckle.

The best thing was apparently a military buckle. But I'm not sure what it is, I hope someone can help me identify it.
