I have had this box for at least twenty years but have never been able to find anything out about it other than what is stamped on it. And, until I looked at the pictures of it on the computer I didn't know there was a stamp on one side. I can make out Albany, NY but there is more. As for the main stamp, it is on two opposite sides. The date in the seal reads 1824 but I don't think this box is that old because round nails were used to nail the bottom on, unless they were a later repair. Hopefully someone here can give me some info about the company. Is it related to Kelloggs of cereal fame? Thanks for any and all help.

Looks to be mid 20's or a well made reproduction

The date on the box could be when the company was founded and not represent the age of the box itself.

Since it says "Spencer Kellogg and Sons Inc" , we can be sure it is post 1912.

But that's about all I have to offer.

When I was a kid my Mom would give us a tea spoon of castor oily day. It was thought to be a preventative
medicine at the time. It was awful. So much so I would not dare get sick fearing the cure would be even worse.
