So a little backstory. My house/garage we’re both built in the very early 1900’s. Last year I found some amazing things under the floor boards in the attic including a 45 star America flag and some hand painted sings on both wood and thick cardboard like paper. Some were hand painted. One had a note from the original owner to his wife talking of going to sell his signs to the new local cigar shop owner. Well when the attic finds dried up I thought that was the end but I recently began cleaning up the loft in the garage and behind some old insulation I found this! It’s painted American colors on a very thick paper/cardboard and I can tell it’s very old but how old do u think it is? Does it hold any value? I live in northeastern PA where darts were originally made popular in this country in the early 1900’s. It’s an awesome piece to me either way but I wanted some opinions and feedback. Thanks and HH ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533306669.532598.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533306691.357251.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533306738.081252.webp

Here are a few of the other signs I have found here for a reference as to what time it may have been made.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307385.731117.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307424.037046.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307436.402314.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307448.901971.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307463.524784.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307473.939005.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307486.551357.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307499.557594.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533307511.277254.webp

those are some very interesting finds

Some very cool signage you've found there!

Hold on....
Now that I’ve seen this dart board, gets me wondering about the numbers, and where they are on the board....
Is this a home made piece, or when and if the numbers have ever changed, to where they are today?
Time to Google the history of darts, and when the rules and regulations put in place to where they are today...
I used to be a pretty salty shooter, back in my bar hopping days (good times).....
Your piece might be a worthless hunk of crap, or priceless.....

Very interesting.

Yep been there done that. The numbers in these positions were first adapted in 1896 but they weren’t popularized in America until the early 1900’s in the coal mining region on NEPA (where I live) and around the time I believe this board could have been made. I believe it to be home made because of the other home made signs I’ve found here as well as colors going over the lines and some being thicker than others ect. I also shoot darts, I’m around a 30 average. Darts are still VERY popular in this part of Pennsylvania.

Still have my dads Widdy board from college hanging in the spare bedroom of my home. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533311236.945669.webp

I have looked all over the internet and can’t find anything even remotely like it. I’m beginning to think boards like this one simply no longer exist.

cool to find all that keep looking

I love what you have found! Thank you for sharing. :occasion14:

That’s a real cool find and so are the others. Congrats

Anyone have any idea on how to estimate a value? It’s going to be difficult to get down but if it’s worth it I will make it happen. Not that I’m going to sell it anyway but u know what I mean.

Just for the heck of it try an antiques dealer ,just for funzies, see if it turns up anything, can't hurt. HH
