Just recently started metal detecting about a month ago and can't stop, lol. I'm very new in detecting and now trying to save up for a water capable detector. I'm currently using a tracker IV and these are my recent finds for 2014. Bullets from WW2(?), knife w gemstones, merc dime, silver ring n cuff link. Still looking for the gold. Just gotta keep digging.

Bounty Hunter Tracker IV
Welcome to t-net! :hello: :laughing7: I've been detecting with Bounty Hunter Tracker IV for three years, though my son has upgraded to a Teknetics. Happily, my Tracker IV last year unearthed a gorgeous, custom-made gold ring amid a nasty mess of iron objects. Also another gold ring in an embankment littered with old bottle caps, nails, etc. My other best beach finds of silver jewelry, jade pendant & so forth have also been mixed in with old rusty nails or other junk. Persistence working the trashy areas of beaches which others often ignore will get you the gold! Meantime, you've sure already had good success with your Merc, cufflink and silver ring. Hope you do eventually get your water detector! I was daydreaming of getting water detector for our miles of beaches, but at age 72 and somewhat wobbly on my feet even on land, realized that I'd spend most of my water time falling down, lol. HAVE FUN! Andi

Thank you for the warm welcome gang. I have been a fan of this site for a while now, reading interesting stories. We also have stories from this site of hidden treasures here in Hawaii. Just got to keep digging.

Looks like you are off to a great start. I am new myself, as of November. Keep hunting the goodies will come :) With an attitude like that, you are bound for gold.

Thanks all. I have been living on Oahu for a couple of years now, but just recently started to discover its beaches. My wife thinks I'm crazy because of my newfound obsession, lol. If I'm not out there MD, I'm on the internet looking at old maps, reading articles, on google earth, and discovering abandoned areas/villages to MD in the future. Thanks Andi for the tips. I will now use all metal mode and dig everything. Aloha gang.
