Well 1 is better than none. I found some killer heart breakers, mostly tips and a few bases. Scrapers and tools and pottery shards. It was hot and the bugs were tearing me up. The ticks seemed to like me today which I could do without. Hope you like the flint! rock

Nice point Rock. Like that black flint/chert. That second one would have been huge. You are doing well in your hunts sir.

I wish I knew. Somebody had been in the field but they missed one. It is posted so they had to sneak in. I saw rocks that had been moved since the last time I was there. If you know the type post it. I checked Peach states site but didnt see it.

Good to see that you found a couple nice ones. :icon_thumright:

Rock...I am no expert and still haven't bought a reference book yet, but I have one a little more narrow but very similar. I found a website I can't remember that had points for ID. I thought it looked like the type called a Bradley Spike. Again...I really have no clue...I call it nice! Congrats...I'm jealous a bit.

rock.. the base of the point is in shaddow...is it broken?

Might be a spike. I also think maybe a round base guilford. But it has 2 tiny notches at the base. Thanks for the guess.

Just checking..everything else about the point appears well finished but the bottom of the base.
I was thinking the small notches were there to create an expanding stem point like a Bakers Creek/ Lowe.

No it has the same thickness as the sides of the point. Ground down I believe it is called or is it thinned?

Congrats Rock, your on some great finds...
Bummer on that second one, awesome day!!

Love the flint points...wishin I could find something like that here. Nice pottery shards too...looks like a good day for you.

You did good, nice point.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I think the point might be a Merkle point 4000-2000 BP. Woodland Point cause I found it in the same area as the pottery shards. TY and HH, rock
